In the fall, the design project was about what housing might be like in the coming generations. We will continue this semester with long term considerations on time, but also looking backwards into archaeological and geological time. The aim is to study times of architecture in a broad sense.
The program for the architectural project is a retreat, where artists and scientists can stay for shorter or longer periods of time – some only for a day, others for an entire semester. It is considered to be part of Aarhus University, Moesgaard Campus, but can also be inhabited by people from outside the university. The building should contain spaces to sleep, work and meet, however not spaces for laboratories and collections.
Each 1st and 2nd semester student should choose a site within a 700-meter radius from Moesgaard Campus (not at the coast). 3rd semester students can choose any site in Denmark. We encourage a landscape or suburban setting.
